WinLoG Groundwater Monitoring Well QA/QC Example

Integrated validation of monitoring-well construction, groundwater levels, sample identity, field parameters, and laboratory criteria.

This example shows how WinLoG applies automated QA/QC to a groundwater monitoring well record. BH-06 MW-QAQC combines soil descriptions, detailed well construction, multiple water-level observations, groundwater sample identifiers, temperature, pH, TDS, laboratory concentrations, applicable criteria, and depth-linked validation findings.

The data deliberately includes a duplicated groundwater sample identifier, a construction component extending below the borehole termination, an invalid water depth, excessive water-level variation, and groundwater-quality criterion exceedances. Each finding is linked to the affected record and actual value in the validation report.

How the Example Demonstrates Groundwater QA/QC

The example contains deliberate monitoring-well and groundwater data-quality conditions rather than only idealized data. The 10.0 m borehole contains a cap component ending at 10.8 m, and one water-level record is also entered at 10.8 m. The identifier GW06-01 is reused for two groundwater samples.

The validation report contains 3 errors and 3 warnings. The warnings demonstrate water-level consistency checking and comparison of TDS and benzene results with depth-linked groundwater criteria.
