This example shows how WinLoG applies automated QA/QC to an environmental subsurface investigation. BH-04 ENV-QAQC combines soil descriptions, sample identifiers, recovery, PID/VOC screening, odour and staining observations, laboratory results, criteria exceedances, and validation findings in one professional log.
The data deliberately includes missing and duplicate sample identifiers, laboratory criterion exceedances, and elevated PID/VOC readings so users can see how errors and warnings are tied to the affected sample depths and supporting environmental evidence.
The example contains deliberate environmental data-quality conditions rather than only idealized data. These include a missing sample ID, a duplicate sample ID, three laboratory criterion exceedances, and two elevated PID/VOC readings associated with impacted material.
The validation report contains 2 errors and 5 warnings. Negative phrases such as no visible staining and no free product observed are treated as negative observations instead of being misidentified as positive evidence of contamination.
Download the example files individually. The XML template and log can be imported into WinLoG Version 6 and customized for company-specific environmental investigation and QA/QC workflows.
